Volunteer Lobby/Advocacy Workshops

  • Tuesday, December 20, 2016
  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Tempe Transit Center - Cassano Room 200 E. Fifth St. Tempe, AZ

Are you ready to make a difference? Interested in helping to protect Arizona's air, land, and water? Please join us for this informative and fun workshop. Arizona needs more advocates who are willing to meet with legislators, city council people, county supervisors, and other officials who have enormous impact on our future and on what kind of legacy we leave for the next generation.

The workshop runs two hours and covers the basics on the Arizona Legislature, how a bill becomes a law, how a bill really becomes a law, and Do's and Don'ts of Advocacy at the Legislature. We will also have light refreshments and drinks as we know this is during dinner.

The 2017 Arizona Legislative Session kicks off on Monday, January 9th with the State of the State address by Governor Ducey. For the Annual Environmental Day, February 15, 2017, environmental advocates from throughout the state, new and experienced, will be gathering at the Arizona State Capitol to meet with state legislators to express support for the environment and open space. This year's theme is Protecting the Arizona We all Share. Come be part of one of our teams!

Training will take place:
