Arizona Parks and Recreation Association Conference Speaker Information

August 31 - September 2, Phoenix Convention Center, South Building

Thank you for your interest in presenting at the APRA Annual Conference. This page provides important guidelines and expectations for all conference speakers and will help you through the education session proposal process.

Deadline to submit Education Session Proposals is January 31, 2026.

Know Your Audience

Our attendees include a diverse mix of parks, recreation, and open space professionals, volunteers, board and commission members, government officials, administrators, trails and park users, industry representatives, athletic directors, and others passionate about our field.

Conference Snapshot:

  • 575+ attendees
  • 100+ exhibit hall booths
  • Nearly 70 volunteers

Understanding who you’ll be speaking to will help tailor your presentation for maximum impact.

Presentation Expectations

Conference sessions are designed to educate and inform, not to promote products or services. Attendees expect high-value, professional content. Presentations that are perceived as sales pitches often result in negative feedback, and attendee feedback is used to select returning speakers.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

All sessions must qualify for CEUs. You will be asked to submit:

  • Your credentials and relevant experience
  • A detailed session outline
  • Learning outcomes (at least three)
  • These materials must be submitted at the time of your session proposal to ensure compliance with CEU standards.
