The Arizona Parks and Recreation Association was founded in 1950 as a member based professional organization. Our membership is comprised of diverse professionals who work for local municipalities, state and county parks, private recreation agencies, HOA's, golf courses and a wide variety of businesses that service the industry.
As a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization, APRA is not directly affiliated or supported by any city, state or county agency.
The Mission, Vision and Values of APRA
To connect, educate and inspire all who enhance the quality of life through the profession of parks, recreation and the protection of natural resources.
To operate as a nonprofit organization for the promotion, broadening and improvement of parks and recreation professionals.
APRA Regional Representation
APRA serves professionals throughout the State of Arizona. To deliver the most to our members, APRA has designated Regional Representatives who serve in each of the five regions of the state. These five region reps serve on the APRA Board of Directors and acts as the liaison between members and the board by maintaining relationships with members, assisting the program committee by communicating the training needs of their respective areas and actively participating in relevant advocacy efforts.
