Certified Youth Sports Administrator Certification (CYSA)

This special One-Day Onsite Academy will offer participants both the On-line and On-site Academy to earn the Certified Youth Sports Administrator (CYSA) credential. The Academy for Youth Sports Administrators is a comprehensive certification program that offers cutting-edge information on critical topics for professional youth sports administrators today. The Academy’s primary goal is to provide attendees with a foundation and tools needed to positively impact the youth sports experience for ALL children in their communities.
Youth Sports Professionals who are interested in earning the CYSA credential will participate in a full day of training at the APRA Conference. Then CYSA candidates will complete the certification process via the Online Academy. Topics covered include: Youth sports philosophy, Professional development, Mission statements, Policies & procedures, Volunteer management, Child abuse prevention, Parent management, Conflict resolution, Insurance & risk management, Inclusion of children with disabilities, Evaluation & marketing of your program, Emergency planning, Model youth sports program, plus more.
Once certified, CYSAs are part of an elite group of professionals that understand the core foundations of the administration of sports programs for children and have demonstrated that professional development is essential to the delivery of quality sports programs.
The CYSA credential allows youth sports administrators to be a part of a professional network, to keep up-to-date with the latest youth sports trends and to position them in a leadership role.

Hillary Roemersberger, CPRP, currently works as the Recreation Services Director at Apex Park and Recreation where she oversees a variety of program areas including Fitness, Youth Programming as well as 2 new recreation facilities. Hillary holds a BS in Health and Exercise Science and an MS in Recreation, Sport and Tourism. Hillary has over 10 years of experience in developing and managing recreation programs, services and events with the Town of Parker as well as currently at Apex where she has been working closely with the marketing team to bring more awareness of Recreation programs/services in the Arvada community.
