Volunteers Make Conference Happen! |
WHY? | Volunteers are our backbone; without them we wouldn't have room hosts, socials, tournaments, or even registration! Volunteerism is a fantastic strategy to connect with APRA and to network with professionals across the state. Hang out with us to meet new people, build your network and learn first-hand what goes on behind the scenes. Conference is dependent on the hundreds of hours of volunteer time each year and without those dedicated professionals, conference would cease to exist. We truly appreciate that you give back to APRA, your fellow members and the profession, through donation of your time. |
SIGN UP | A minimum of 4-volunteer service hours qualifies you for a discounted rate of $350 on your full conference registration package or $175 for a single day registration. To access the discount registration code, you must first finalize details with the Volunteer Co-Chairs (contact information below). Volunteer hours are carefully tracked. If a volunteer fails to complete their assigned duty/hours, they accountable to pay the remainder of the registration fee. 2024 APRA Conference volunteer opportunities are now open. Please click on the following web link (or copy it into your web browser if clicking doesn't work) to go to the volunteer signup sheet: |

*Room Hosts | Volunteers will assist speaker set-up, introduce the speaker at the beginning of each session, ensure all attendees are wearing a badge, record headcount, close room once space limit has been reached, remind attendees to rate the speaker and apply for CEU's post conference via the CEU submission link. You mush be comfortable speaking in front of a group. *Room Hosts are eligible to receive CEUs for sessions hosted. |
Registration Desks | Registration Volunteers should be energetic and friendly! Help attendees move smoothly through the registration lines, make sure the line is moving by directing attendees to the proper locations. Check-in delegates and out conference materials and answer general questions. Check-in will ensure volunteers understand their volunteer position and all responsibilities. Speaker check-in desk will check in speakers, guide them to their proper breakout room and answer questions as needed. Notify AV staff if there is a problem. |
Special Events | Volunteers will assist attendees at specific APRA special events such as socials, golf, and TEAM roundtables. Because many of the events are ticketed, volunteers will be asked to take tickets or check for badges at the door, assist with crowd control, and maintain room capacity. |
Greeter and Directions | Readily accessible to provide necessary directional support for conference attendees to the various functions taking place during the conference. Ability to answer general questions or direct to the proper authority. |
