NRPA is offering a CAPRA visitor training at the APRA Conference on Tuesday, August 8th at 1:00 pm.  

The session is 4 hours and will cost participants $50. 

Participants should meet the following qualifications, but when they complete the training, they will be certified as CAPRA visitors.  This session will also serve as the required refresher.  

VISITOR QUALIFICATIONS

Individuals interested in serving as CAPRA visitors must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be currently employed full-time in, or retired from, the field of recreation, park resources, and leisure services
  2. Have completed five (5) years of full-time professional experience in the field
  3. Hold the Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) or Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE) credential (not required for retired professionals)
  4. Membership in the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) or related professional organization
  5. Attended an official CAPRA visitor training on current standards within the last thre(3) years
  6. May not currently be a sitting member of the Commission, unless, at the discretion of the Executive Committee, there is an extenuating circumstance, e.g., quality control, visitation team vacancy or visitor shortage.
Class is eligible for .3 CEU's through NRPA - an additional $25 charge will apply.
