Why should I incorporate BMX into my recreation programming?

Bicycle motocross or BMX is extreme racing on bicycles in motocross style. This session will teach the basics of BMX, the responsibilities of maintaining a BMX track and the benefits of incorporating a BMX program into your recreational programming.

Itinerary

9:30 a.m. ~ Breakfast at Show Low City Hall, 180 N. 9th St. 

10:15 a.m. ~ Workshop at BMX Track @ Nikolaus Homestead Park, 1001 West Mills 

1. Tour of track and park
   
2. Partnership between City of Show Low and ABA (American Bicycle Association) 
   
3. Benefits of BMX to Recreation department/City of Show Low and surrounding community
   
4. Responsibilities of track operator
   
5. Run the course - everyone will get a chance to ride the course and participate in the workings of a registration and race
   

11:45 a.m. ~ Lunch @ Waldo’s BBQ
