PowerUp! Fun Fitness Activities for Youth Rec Programs

This interactive session will provide recreation program facilitators more than 30 exercises and games that foster deeper engagement, boost self-confidence, and improve problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging way for youth participants. Learn to integrate national academic standards and social-emotional learning content into physical activities that increase both focus and academic performance.

Stacy Baugues, MS is a pediatric exercise physiologist and CEO and founder of PowerUp Fitness. Her organization empowers youth through fitness, education, and fun. Stacy has been in the health and wellness industry since 2006 and has diverse leadership experience in education, whole child health, and non-profit sectors, leading state-wide initiatives for healthier communities. Stacy and the PowerUp team now provide professional development opportunities related to active learning for out-of-school-time professionals across the country. Stacy has presented on Active Learning for national and statewide organizations including USDE’s Summer Symposium, BOOST, TNDE, Ohio Afterschool Network, Utah Afterschool Network, VPOST, among others. Her research on youth physical activity and its link to academic achievement inspired the PowerUp Your School program where physical activity is directly aligned with national academic standards and social emotional learning content.

Due to the pandemic, APRA staff is working from home; therefore, all payments must be processed on-line using a credit card or P-Card at the time of registration. Beginning August 2020 all event registrations must be paid in full with a credit card at the time of registration. Any registrations without a valid method of payment at time of registration is considered incomplete and will be automatically removed from the event.
