Join the Parks and Facility Maintenance Team for a facility tour and lunch in the beautiful City of Surprise.
Meet at Marley/Heritage Park at 9:15am. The group will then tour three facilities in the City that have had recent upgrades and new equipment installed. City of Surprise Parks Maintenance Supervisor, Steve Hamilton will explain the process the City went through in accomplishing each project.
Stop 1: 9:15AM - MARLEY/HERITAGE PARK (15073 W SWEETWATER AVE) We will begin with reviewing the splash pad enhancements, recent projects & discuss the challenges & solutions in managing a shared space with nearby schools, HOA & sports fields. Note: The parking lot may be busy due to school drop-off, ending at 9AM.
Stop 2: 10:15AM - FIELDS @ COUNTRYSIDE (15263 W GREENWAY RD)
Just 10 minutes away, our next stop is the newest addition to our park system. This 12-acre park features an integrated playground, 6 acres of sand-based sports fields & restroom facilities.
Stop 3: 11:00AM - SURPRISE COMMUNITY PARK (16089 N BULLARD AVE)
Our final stop has undergone several significant projects over the past two years. Outdoor Systems Management (OSM) will walk us through their contributions, including pavers, irrigation updates, new landscaping & efforts to reduce turf in key areas. This park is also the centerpiece for the upcoming holiday event, Sparkling Surprise, our festive light show.
